Rusty Lock
If you could read my mind like Jesus can
You would see shelves stacked with plans
It’s like a large cupboard with a rusty lock
To one special girl I’ll give the key to this special room
Of course the lock has rusted over through the years
But her tears of joy will wash the rust away
As the door of my heart is unlocked she would hesitate
And I would say, “Hush my love… no-one but you can creep inside
To sit and gaze around
She would step into my world and marvel at all that is within
The interior is lined with marble and pearl
The shelves are stacked with boxes containing ideas, plans, hopes and dreams
All for her, and her alone to sort through
Only Jesus knows what is in those boxes
But the flower of my soul will be the only other to know
When I cry inside, only my darling will know
As I stand strong to confront a world of sin
Only my sweetheart will know what is happening within
In front of Satan’s Hosts; in front of the worse the world can display
I will fight the good fight for our Lord and Master Jesus Christ
Strengthened by my Princess to continue the battle, though at times I’ll be weary
My treasure, my fairy, my beloved of a thousand hills… my gift from Lord will strengthen me with her presence alone; to be all that God has called me to be
By her close walk with Jesus my pretty maiden will be all that God intended her to be
A tower of strength, a radiant fragrance and a jewel priceless beyond all value
Words do not exist to describe the love I contain within me
It is kept in a small jar on the top shelf in the locked room of my heart
Once the rusty door is opened my maid must locate the jar
It is labelled “Adams Love. Unlimited supply. This Jar will never run dry
If the girl my heart longs for knew how much love is awaiting her
Truly she would walk on water to get to me
However she must be patient and wait for the right time as arranged
Though I do not know her, from daylight to dark I pray for the Lord to keep her safe
To protect her from evil, to encourage her to be faithful to God
And to give her peace and happiness forevermore
Emeralds and diamonds, rubies and pearls… all these are plain
Beside the woman I shall love
Lo, she will be matchless beyond imagination
There is not a woman at any time in history that will compare
My lassie will outshine all others with serenity, peace and virtue
I’ll be SOOoooooo very proud of my girl…
