Thanks Lord for Everything
On a morning quiet and clear
I heard a voice hushed and near
With the warmth of the sunrise
And the power of no other size
Speak Lord, I am listening...
And then I hear the mountains ring!
Says He, the great I am
To his little Lamb
My child, I will never leave you, nor forsake you
Though at times you feel a little blue
Troubles you will encounter, but good will always come
With a mighty rap on my great drum
Then I who stood there in the morning mist
Fell to my knees and prayed without a lisp
Oh Lord, thy will be done, not mine
Just keep me on the track that is divine
And Jesus, whilst I'm talking to ye
One small favour may I ask thee?
Lord I know you made heaven and earth and all things in it
Including my selfish self, but please, what made you die for such as I?
I am just a man like any other; plain and simple
With plenty of bumps and more than a pimple
It staggers me to see why the God of all should die for my sin
When I am more worthless than even the smallest grin
But though I don't understand it all right now
Before I go and join the others outside making a row
There is only one more thing I'd like to say Lord...
Thanks for doing what you did for me and my friends across the board
The day I leave this world will be the greatest in all the land
Because then I'll get to shake your hand!
