If the Lord came to your House
If Jesus came to your house, what would he find?
Would he find a home, sweet and divine?
Would you proudly ask him inside,
To sit by your fireside?
Or would you cover your face with shame,
Not feeling the least bit game?
Would you blush and turn him away,
Asking him to come some other day?
Would he find your house cluttered with arguments and worldly talk?
Perhaps through your door you’d hate to see your Lord to walk.
Would you be happy for the Lord to spend some time with you,
Or would you rue each minute he spends with you?
Would you show him your bible with pride of place upon your shelf,
And thank him for writing that beautiful letter to keep us in spiritual health?
As you remember the bad things you have done,
And all the treasure in heaven you could have won,
Fellow sinner, please remember, Jesus gave his life for you and I
And truly the Lord doesn’t lie
Salvation can only be found through God the Father.
Let him into your heart without further palaver.
He is knocking upon the door of your heart, seeking it to repair.
So please, take my advice and swing wide the door and walk up the golden stair.
