A Pumpkin Faced Gent
I saw a Pumpkin faced gent, all rosy and trim
Standing beneath a tree with his hand upon a limb
So said I to him "Have you seen a lady fair?
"Certainly!" he replied with despair
"I saw a man abusing her
As though she were nothing but a cur"
I roared "Why didn't you go to her aid?
For that purpose every man is made!"
The Pumpkin blushed the brightest orange and replied
"For I was taught at school never to a woman be tied
“I was afraid I'd get hurt
Please Sir… I didn't want to hit the dirt!”
Grabbing the palpating orange mess, I heaved him high
Till I glared at him fully in the eye
"That was my lady you left and refused to defend
Men have become selfish and upon them women cannot depend
“Though not your wife… she is still somebody’s girl
Whether not your wife, daughter or babe… you should never leave them in a whirl
“God expects all men to protect the fair sex
Even if our own life it causes to fall upon the decks
“We are their knights… even if our armour is rusty
Truly no man can afford to leave it dusty
“God made man the head of the house
In order for him to protect his spouse
“Not to abuse his power
“But to guard his flower
“You Pumpkin faced loon
You are nothing but a stupid baboon
“Let Almighty God control your life
And then you will know how to love a wife!"
