The Friend of All Mankind
I was wandering along a country lane one summers evening, and as I passed through a haven where the leafy trees met like an arch almost like a cathedral, I was surprised to see sitting at the roadside a man… a man was dressed in simple clothes. But he had a beautiful look on his face.
As I approached this stranger he smiled and said, "Welcome Friend!"
I asked him who he was.
"Who? Me?" Came the reply. "I am a friend."
"A friend of whom?" I asked.
"I am a friend of all mankind," the pleasant spoken fellow said.
"What brings you here?” I asked.
The stranger glanced down at his hands before answering.
"YOU!" He said. “I am here for you! Look friend, this is what I did for you."
And he held out his palms.
I gasped as I saw the nail holes. I guessed right away who this man was.
"Sir! Why are you here at the road side waiting for me?" I asked.
"My child, I am here because my people won't recognize me in their big posh churches. I waited for you here in my own Cathedral... under the tree tops that I made with my own hands."
